Interactions of vector solitons.
In this paper, we study the interaction of two widely separated vector solitons in the nonintegrable coupled nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equations. Using a modification of Karpman-Solov'ev perturbation method, we derive dynamical equations for the evolution of both solitons' internal parameters. We show that these dynamical equations allow fixed points that correspond to stationary two-vector-s...
متن کاملOptical solitons and wave-particle duality.
We investigate the propagation of optical solitons interacting with linear defects in the medium. We show that solitons exhibit a wave-particle dualism versus power, i.e., depending on the relative size of soliton and defect, responsible for a soliton trajectory dependent on its waist.
متن کاملZero-brane approach to study of particle-like solitons in classical and quantum Liouville field theory
The effective p-brane action approach is generalized for arbitrary scalar field and applied for the Liouville theory near a particle-like solution. It was established that this theory has the remarkable features discriminating it from the theories studied earlier. Removing zero modes we obtain the effective action describing the solution as a point particle with curvature, quantize it as the th...
متن کاملCarrier Pigeon-like Sensing System: Beyond Human-Red Forest Interactions
The Carrier Pigeon-like Sensing System (CPSS) is a future-present computing archetype that will enable the human race to observe inaccessible natural spaces, such as the contaminated forests around the Fukushima nuclear power plant. The system aims to elucidate the scientific knowledge underlying the self-repair mechanisms of contaminated natural areas and allows users to maintain a connection ...
متن کاملScaling Identities for Solitons beyond Derrick’s Theorem
New integral identities satisfied by topological solitons in a range of classical field theories are presented. They are derived by considering independent length rescalings in orthogonal directions, or equivalently, from the conservation of the stress tensor. These identities are refinements of Derrick’s theorem.
